The 40,000-square-foot facility is chalk-full of bouldering areas, auto-belays and climbing walls. Bulgaria-based Walltopia designed and pre-fabricated the new climbing walls.

“We’re no longer trying to mimic outdoor climbing. We’re our own sport,” Katz said.

To that end, the walls feature pops of color, varying terrain and even LED lights.

“I want to say it’s art. It has that feel, because you’re trying to create a really interesting, artistic place for people to climb,” he said.

The facility has much more to offer beyond its climbing and bouldering walls, including weightlifting, cardio and fitness rooms, a yoga room and a sauna and cold plunge.
